Epson inks and Pigment over Satista

I have been experimenting with making Pigment over Satista prints and
have succeeded in getting them to work.

1. Are dye-based inks suitable for this procedure or are they fugitive?
2. Can water-based polyurethane or Gamblin wax be used to impart a
gloss to prints?
