THE LIGHT FROM THE DARKNESS.

The planned programme of presentations will include

Church Photography to 1865

drawingfrom probably the world's largest collection of church photography at
English Heritage

Church Photography commissioned by Country Life from 1897 including such
masters as Evans and Brandt.

Frederick Evans as photographer and inspiration including original prints by
Frederick Evans and modern prints inspired by his work. Evans' photography and
platinum printing are bench marks of excellence.

One man’s church photography in France and England from 1946

Photography from the Cathedral's archives and 'hidden treasures'.

The exhibition will include modern photography, original historic prints and
reproductions.

The registration fee is 150 GBP to include accommodation,  some meals and a
copy of the proceedings. There is also likely to be an excursion to working
churches built before 1000 AD on the Monday.

The conference will take place in Prior's Hall and the exhibition in the
Monks' Dormitory which are both accessed from the Cathedral cloisters.
Accommodation will be in Hatfield College which is a beautiful 18C in the
Cathedral precinct. Hatfield College is the building to the right of the
Cathedral in the Turner's painting from Prebend's Bridge.
