>From 1 May to 12 May there will be an exhibition of church photography at The
Camera Club in Bowden Street in Kennington, next door to where Charlie
Chaplin was brought up and near Kennington tube station.
There will be panel discussion of the prints at 7 PM on Thursday 4 May
followed by a drink. The drink, the discussion and the exhibition are all FREE.
The camera Club is open every day.

Craftsmanship in silver gelatine printing and photography of churches and
cathedrals in England, France and Portugal
Ken Keen FRPS
Ken's photographs of 'redundant churches' are in salt, cyanotype and
cyanotype rex.
Terry King FRPS
Terry is on the Visual Art distinctions panel of the Royal Photographic
Society. His prints includes gum, cyanotype and chrysotype rex and platinum prints
Jim Tonks ARPS
While a fine photographer and silver gelatine printer Jim tends to the
romantic tradition bringing out the mystery by use of chiaroscuro
This small exhibition is a precursor to an exhibition and conference to be
held at
DURHAM CATHEDRAL on 23 and 24 July 2006
Durham Cathedral is considered to be one of the world's most beautiful
buildings.
THE LIGHT FROM THE DARKNESS.
The planned programme of presentations will include speakers from English
Heritage and the National Museum of Photography on
Church Photography to 1865
Church Photography commissioned by Country Life
Frederick Evans as photographer and inspiration
One man’s church photography in France and England from 1946
The exhibition will include modern photography, original historic prints and
reproductions.
The registration fee is £150 to include accommodation, some meals and a copy
of the proceedings.
