Alternative Processes Lecture, Exhibition and Open Competition

People may already know of The Camera Club's campaign to revive its
illustrious history. The campaign will include research into the work of Captain Abney
who contributed so much to the devilment of photography, and who was the
club's President for the last quarter of the nineteenth century.

The Club will working in co-operation with the Historical Group of the Royal
Photographic Society.

The Camera Club will be holding an open competition later this year for
prints using 'alternative processes' (for further information contact Peter Moseley
to whom this is copied).

As a precursor to the alternative processes open competition, Terry King will
be giving a lecture on the history of these processes, including his
'retro-invention' programme, and the craft needed to bring out their beauty to the
full. The lecture will be at The Camera Club at 7 PM on Wednesday 21 February.

The exhibition in support of the lecture will be on show at The Camera Club
for the week of 20 February. It will include a wide range of images in gum,
platinum, cyanotype and cyanotype rex, chrysotype rex and gravure. The exhibition
will also include work of 'Il Laboratorio' members who have attended Terry
King's Wedgwood to Bromoil workshops.

The Camera Club is open during afternoons and evenings every day.

Entrance to the lecture and the exhibition will be free with a complementary
glass of wine following the lecture.
