Ann,
You could try making it. Maybe someone here already has. When I have time I was going to try dissolving Ferric Chloride (which I have on hand, but commonly available at an electronics suppliers) with Sodium Carbonate (A&H washing soda) to produce Ferric Carbonate which should be insoluable in water. (You could also try Ferric Chloride with Sodium Hydroxide (lye) which should also be insoluable making Ferric Hydroxide.) Filter the precipitate and wash it with distilled water. Then try dissolving in Citric Acid soln to obtain Ferric Citrate in solution. I haven't figured out the stoichiometry for the amounts yet, but I told this one method to produce Ferric Citrate.

Subject: ferric citrate
Does anyone know where one can purchase Ferric citrate? I want to try Liam Lawless suggestion about substituting this for Ferric Ammonium Citrate.
I have checked Artcraft, B&S, and the Photoformulary , with no success.
thanks,
