Welcome back Peter! You were on the list a while ago? There has been so
much talk the last couple years about digital negs. I'd do an archive search
from 2003 to 2005.

Dan Burkholder and Mark Nelson are on the list and can answer those
questions but since no one has chimed in yet I will add a few thoughts.

Digital negs are perfect for gum or for any alt process for that matter.
Pictorico, Pictorico.com, though expensive, is the best substrate material,
but if you were printing black ink only negs you could get by with
Photowarehouse OHP film which is 1/3 the cost, or any transparency material
from an office supply store. It is very thin tho and colored inks tend to
puddle on it.. I used PWOHP exclusively until I switched to using colored
inks only and now have to use Pictorico :(

The Epson 2200 is the printer I use but the 2400 and the 4000 I know also
work (as well as the 1160, C84, and 1280) I think Epson is the forerunner
for digital negs.

There are getting to be quite a few gummists on this list, so you're in good
company!
Chris
