Hi Gordon&Dennis,
Dennis , could you be a more specific in the description of the method
of Maija.
What is not clear to me is 'pigment with beeswax', I wonder if there is
no some kind of oil in the preparation; bromoil and oilprinting is
based upon the fact that water and oil are not fond of each other.
In the past I contacted Maija per snail-mail with some samples to get
remedies , advices etc., and she is a 'Judy's bromoil-source', and she
is dealing with the whole stuff for decades, so Gordon...... don't be
so impatient.... with oilprinting that is the worth thing to do.
Really, beliefe me, first try to reach the goal of making a decent
oil-print with 'ordinary' stiff litho-ink, and start from here for the
fancy things.
The 'talk' stiffener can only be used if it is not too much; selective
inking can be done in steps; you can completely dry a not finished
matrix , and soak again and start inking with different colors, that is
no problem. You also can apply a second, different color on a 'wet'
matrix, colors will mix on the matrix, it is not easy to control the
result, but it is just a matter of experience.
Succes,
Cheers,
Henk
