Thanks for the info regarding the two RIPS - Quad Tone and QImage. I had heard of QImage before and just recently Quad Tone and was a little confused about the differences. I knew their was a Yahoo Users Group for QImage but was surprised to hear their is one also for Quad Tone. I'll check it out

I have not tried to down load either RIP as yet but will do Quad Tone first to see how I like it for B&W on my Epson 2200.

PS- I know this RIP stuff is not a Alt Process topic so I'll get back to the normal Alt Process Forum- sorry for the diversion.

Bruce, I have been using Qimage for about 4 to 5 months. It works well to do random prints on the same piece of paper. It also has sharpening and many other tools. It is just one more program to learn. I also have QTR but have only barely scratched the surface of it. I wanted to see if I could make equally dynamic prints with it and the 7000 loaded with Cone Inks and Image Print. There have just been so many new programs to learn lately it is a bit overwhelming. All in the pursuit of new digital negs and prints.

Both QTR and Qimage have yahoo groups and both are mentioned on the Wide Format group and digital B&W group. If you don’t want to spend $50 on one or both, hang out on those groups and see what info you can get.

I saw your post regarding the Quad Tone RIP by Roy Harrington.

Do you or others have any experience with QImage RIP? I think the Quad Tone is just for B&W- not color. I have heard several good responses regarding Q Image and am trying to figure out which to purchase. Both RIPS are about the same price.

Any guidance would be appreciated.
