Hello All

I had the opportunity to work on a series of multiple gum bichromate prints
that I have going this past weekend.

I trying to use different conentrations of pigment and different exposure
times for each coating to build up the constrast in my gum prints. I had
made a series of prints with a lower concentration of pigment exposed
longer than normal to print out the highlights. These prints looked really
flat, but the highlights were well exposed.

I coated these prints again, but with a greater concentration of pigment
and exposed them for a shorter duration. This increased the depth somewhat
but they still seem a little flat but much better than the first printing.
The midtones came out a little better but no shadow detail.

I will print them again with an even greater pigment concentration to
bring out the shadows.

Does anyone else out there have experience multiple printing. Specifically
how do other people test for the exposure times after the first coating?
Do you make a regualr test strip on a freshly coated paper, or do you
print on the previously coated prints, gradually increasing exposure
until you have the density that you want.

What kind of registration methods do others use for multiple printing?
I've made a pin registration contact frame, it works well.
