Calotype neg formulas/substrates (fwd)

I posted this message awhile ago and did not get any real replies. I am
interested in the salted paper *negative* process (in camera), not the
salted paper print process. The negative process is much more sensitive.

I hope more people are on the list now so I am hoping for a reply. I
will try to post the formulas I have gleaned from the literature when I
get the chance.

Subject: Calotype neg formulas/substrates

I will jump right into this brand-new list with a query:

I am collecting formulas for producing calotype negatives. I have access
to a few ARNO reprints in my collection that have a fairly wide variety
of formulas. Has anyone actually *tried* the negative process and what
formula did you use? I was told by an experienced colleague that she had
tried the process and had difficulty. Someone told her that it was
simple as pie. Any hints?

Also, what papers have you found suitable for the process? Even if you
haven't tried the process, what paper might you suggest?

Thank you for your reply.

Yours,
