I'm still very new at gum printing so others may have already tried this:
I have found that it is much easier to get an even coating of the gum
emulsion if the support is moistened prior to coating. I lightly brush
the support with plain water prior to coating and let it dry for a few
minutes. I get a much more even coating - but not yet perfect.
