hello everyone,

About a week or so ago, I posted a request for information regarding a
new paper allegedly made by Arches especially for making platinum
prints. ...alas, no one had any info.

Well, I just received the current issue of View Camera, and John Rudiak
in his article on platinum printing says that he recently received some
samples of a new paper from Arches of France called "Platine". This
is a 140 lb. paper made specifically for platinum printing that seemed to
work quite well for John, yeilding rich blacks. This correlates well with
my experiences of about 8 years ago where the deepest, richest blacks I
got was on Arches 140 lb., hot-pressed.

John went on to mention that Arches has vowed not to change the paper
formulation once the begin to produce it. He thinks it should be
available by now.
