This is off the alt-photo topic but there was interest expressed. I
received some private email in response to an earlier reply to a question in
this area. For those of you with netnews connections the
rec.crafts.metalworking newsgroup deals with this regularly. I have one of
their recent postings I can forward via email if requested.

Ok enough.

I've been doing some digging on anodizing aluminum and I think I have found
a book that is the best information resource for this. The only drawback is
that the book is from 1988 so some of the materials sources will be out of
date. Even so I don't think you will find better, more complete, or more
useful information outside of the professional publications. The author has
done an outstanding job. No, I was not compensated for saying that.

The phone is (707) 826-4107 and his office hours are Mon to Thurs 11 - 12
and Tues and Thurs 12 - 2.

The price is $19.95 plus $4.25 for UPS in the U.S. For foreign orders, you
will have to negotiate the shipping with him directly by phone or s-mail. I
suggest s-mail since I don't think he can return phone calls out of the U.S.
He does not use electronic mail connections.

I just got off the phone with him and he has no plans to update the book.

Feel free to pass this information on to anyone else.
