A reasonably good printing frame can be made from a picture frame. Get a
solidly made picture frame larger than the largest print you plan on making.
A deep frame is ideal. Get 1/4 inch glass cut to fit the frame. Get some
dense upholstory foam cut to the inside dimensions on the frame. Get a
piece of 3/4 inch plywood cut to the same inside dimensions. You place
the printing material behind the glass, next put in the foam and cover
the back with the wood. Clamp the wood to the frame (Do not put the
clamps on the glass) This provides a strong even pressure on the glass.
If you are using a wooden frame you can drill holes through the frame,
foam, and backing plywood and insert machine screws and use wing nuts to
tighten the entire assembly.
