Neither of these is the case.
I did assert an interest, along with others, in receiving the Autochrome
documents. That interest still stands.
I offered to send via email an ASCII file that with minor ASCII editing and
saving as an ASCII file should run without any further modifications as a DOS
based uudecoder.
The original Autochrome post described the French text as the result of a
scanning process. Scanning makes graphics files and the files can be
converted to pure ASCII by uuencoding them. As ASCII they can be emailed
although there still could be problems about file length. With a uudecoder
they can then be returned to their binary form as graphics files and printed
as such.
Doing things this way is not nice but for some it will be the only way to get
the files other than ordinary mail.
