When I first saw a reproduction of a Wendy MacNeil photo described as
platinum on vellum I assumed she was using the real stuff, i.e. parchment
made from (preferably uterine or stillborn) calfskin, lambskin, or kidskin
treated with alum for use as a writing/calligraphy surface. Of course,
there's more than one sort of vellum....
