the address of the online FAQ is

/~holtsg/photo/faq.html

This is a world wide web document. You can access this document with
world wide web browser programs such as Netscape, Mosaic or Lynx. In
Netscapte of Mosaic you select the open location or go to URL option and
type in the above address. With Lynx you press the "g" key to select the
goto option and then type in the above address.

The online FAQ is much more up to date than the FAQ available from the
listserv. I recomend the online FAQ for a couple of reasons. The world
wide web FAQ is what is continually updated, the listserv FAQ has not
been updated recently. If their is a strong demand for the listserv FAQ
I will update it. It is much easier (because of boring logistical
reasons) to maintain the world wide web FAQ - so I focus my attention on it.

The world wide web FAQ has links to many other suppliers and other
alternative photographic sites of interest to the members of this list.
For those of you not familiar with world wide web browsers, it is
possible to jump from a document at one location to a different document
at another location. It is designed to allow one to "navigate through
cyberspace" with relative ease.

A good example of this is the subject of Freestyle. Freestyle is listed
in the Sources of Materials section of the FAQ. I have listed their
address, however Freestyle has created their own world wide web page. I
have put in a link to Freestyle's page in the FAQ. By selecting the
colored or highlighted text "Freestyle" in the FAQ, you are linked to
their page. From their page you can access their online catalog and even
order over the compter.

Recently I have been contacted by a number suppliers who have informed me
that they have created world wide web pages and have requested that I
include a link to their site from my FAQ. As more and more suppliers do
this I will add them to the FAQ. Suppliers will usually put a link to
the alt-photo-process FAQ on their page in return. This serves to give
the alt-photo-process list a great deal more exposure.

I have added a section of Education and workshops to the FAQ. If any
knows any education serives that would be relevant to the
alt-photo-process community, please pass it on to me.

I have found the world wide web to be a very effective way to present
information an urge all members of the list to try it out.

If any one has any difficulties, questions or suggestion for the FAQ
please contact me directly.
