I tried "Arista" matt for Bromoil several years ago. It did work after a
fashion. I heard somewhere that the matt surface is achieved w/ the addition
of starch to the emulsion. I got it from Freestyle and it was real cheap
(prices went way up later). It also proved to be a great paper for regular
printing for me, though i recall others (students with less experience)
didn't like it. Similar to Galerie, much cheaper, toned great, beautiful
surface... Made my own oil papers with several gelatine samples from Hormel.
Got this great thick coat that could be "read" like braille after
processing... I was just messin around and never went further w/ either
process. i was most interested in the idea of transferring the greasy ink
from an oil or bromoil to a litho stone, but then didn't have access to
equipment and dropped it. Does anyone have experience with this?
