Yesterday I attended an excellent exhibition of Photography at the
Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto Canada. The show which continues
on to Jan 13 is a selection of the best prints from the National Gallery
in Canada. Well worth attending if you can.

This is the first time that I have seen original Stieglitz images. There
were several large prints made at the turn of the century that were
marked as "Gum Bichromate and Platinum". The images had a texture
of a charcoal drawing but had a richness of a photograph.

I would expect that gallery curators have marked these prints correctly,
but I am not aware of how you would combine the Platinum and Gum
Bichromate together. Is anyone familiar with this technique?
