I remember playing with these about 15 years ago???? If I remember right
this was a clear plastic that you cut out, and colored with magic
markers, and then shrank in the oven. Are we talking about the same thing?

I don't happen to know the type of plastic used, but you could try
experimenting with some to see if you can get the same effect. As I
recall, plain old styrofoam will do this as well.
