My last message detailed the "alt-photo-process" I am using. The
photosensitive plates that I am using cost an arm-and-a-leg. I hope
that someone here can help me find a cheaper source for plates.

The*problem* is that I don't know who manufactures the plates!
Here are the characteristics/ features of the photosensitive plates:

*photosensitive (UV) polymer .024 -- .035 thick
*unexposed/unmasked polymer is water-soluble
*plate backing material: choice of polyester, aluminum, or phenolic

The critical feature for me is the polymer thickness! I need to
achieve relief b/t the exposed and unexposed areas. Does this
describe a material that anyone is familiar with?

Incidently, the plates come in two polymer colors: a yellow
polymer that exposes with a 35 degree "draft" at masked edges, or a
green variety that exposes without draft.

I could probably use any plastic (polyester, polyethylene, etc) plate
backing. Other than 3M, I don't know who manufactures plates...
..I checked with them, and their closest "match" is their "Onyx"
printing plate which is of minimal thickness.

On a related (polymer) note, and I am quite serious in asking
this, does anyone remember ShrinkyDinks? Clear plastic sheets that
shrink when you heat them to 350degreesF (or so)? I have tried
unsuccessfully to find the manufacturer (it isn't 3M) of this
material, or at least a source for buying it in quantity.
Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Jeff Skerlec
