Re: strong tape of 0.15 to 0.20 mm thickness
I can think of two tapes that should live up to the task in a permanent (or at least semi-permanent) fashion. One is stainless steel pinstriping tape (used for decorating cars and motorcycles), which adheres tenaciously and has a polished SS outer surface. It's only about 0.002" thick -- you'd need to apply several layers. It does come in a number of narrow widths, so you probably wouldn't need to slit it to size. Another good candidate would be helicopter blade tape (used on the leading edges of helicopter blades to prevent nicks from airborne pebbles, sand, etc.). Most often made of titanium, sometimes polyurethane or other materials. Also adheres tenaciously and has a slick surface. Some types are the right thickness, but a small roll would raise your investment to the point that you might as well buy a Seitz in the first place. (3M 8671 is a similar polyurethane tape that isn't too awfully expensive, but it's too thick at 0.014".) Best regards, etienne
