You need an etching press to print the photopolymer plates. Charles Brand
presses can often be found used, but there are many good quality intaglio
presses out there (Takach, Praga, etc.). I just wouldn't go TOO cheap--to
some extent you get what you pay for. I use a Dickerson combination press in
the printmaking studio where I teach and a Whelan press in my own studio.
The Whelan is an interesting press; it is a large press with a stationary
bed and the roller moves across the bed of the press. It is also unusual in
that it uses a rubber blanket. It may be my imagination, but I sometimes
think that I get better prints from my photopolymer plates using this press
than the traditional style etching press.
Good luck!

All this talk about photogravures has inspired me to try this out. I am
going to start looking for a press. My dept. chair said to go as cheap as
possible (used) but will back me up. I need to know exactly which type of
press will print these plates. Is this a lithographers press? Any
information will be appreciated. Also are there sources for this type of
equipment?
Thanks,
