Of course. OK. :-)
Whatever is causing it is too frequent to sand them all, even if I were
willing to. I saw a post that suggested using a cleaning sheet, like
what Epson supplies with their lower end printer like the 2200 and have
a vendor looking into that for me. I'm just hoping for a cure that is
less painful or problematic than the disease...
Thanks,
Jon

heheheeh I just meant if there
was a burr on the plastic in the paper path that is scratching the
media, then finding the burr and very very very carefully sanding it
down.
Nothing as extreme as
sandblasting the entire printer hehehehe

Hi Mark,
Base side, not ink side. Yes, I'm using roll feed. The scratching
appears to happen after the media passes by the print head.
I can't get my fingers in all areas of the paper path to feel for burrs
or buildup but have dusted the heck out of it.
Are you seriously suggesting using sandpaper in my printer? That
sounds like something that would bring me out of the frying pan and
into the fire in short order, but please tell me more...
Thanks,
Jon

Jon,
Is it scratching the ink or just the film?
Are you using roll feed?
Have you checked the paper path in the areas the scratches
are occuring?
You might have some burrs that need sanding down?
Thanks Mark:
Base side, vertical scratches, consistent with the direction the media
comes out of the printer. Width of the scratches and distance among
them are variable, but placement of them are consistent.

Jon,
Can you describe the
scratches? Which way they run, frequency, which side of the media?

Hi All,
My Epson 7800 has been working like a champ for over a year now, but my
clients are starting to complain about increasingly more pronounced
scratches. There seems to be no amount of dusting and user serviceable
parts that affect this problem. Last time I contacted the vendors,
Epson blames the media and Pictorico blames Epson.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Jon
