Yes that WLS sharpening/tone mapping algorithm looks great. I google'd it

I checked it with a friend: it is a MatLab script, but he has not a routine called by the program (padarray, which is part of the Image Processing Toolbox™). Anybody there is able to convert it in a compiled form, adding also some interactive controls for a more user-friendly version?

Hi Mustafa
I don't know the answer to your question, but thanks for the reference.
Kammagamma has a very informative website (even for someone who doesn't
own a digital camera). In light of earlier discussions in this group of
the notion of tone mapping on a non-linear basis, this item may be of
interest to some members:

Subject: EOS to M8 Template and its technology

Hello ,
I found a web site which is presenting a Adobe Lightroom template for to
change nikon colors to Leica M8.
I have a EOS 1000 . I send the films to a market and they scan them with
uncalibrated scanner.
So the colors cast blue grey and reds , yellows and skin tones are poor.
I tried these templates and result was excellent but people say not
exactly M8.
So the question : How can someone know the color output of a camera and
compare colors with other cameras with fancy graphical stuff ?
I want to learn the secret behind it.
Kammagamma is the site.
Best ,
