The DaVinci Cosmotop synthetic wash brushes are amazing for
pt/pd...available everywhere and you can use Dock Blick coupons (sometimes
30-40% off) if there is one near you.
I have another one I sometimes use for gum...very smooth!

Tsuyoshi,
Please put my name down for a 2 and 3 inch. I have several Richeson Magic
Brushes in different sizes and for the price you pay they are SO cheaply
made, they flake like mad, they rust, and they are quite frustrating to me
as much as they save me money in pt/pd chemistry. I can't tell you how
many times they have flaked paint into my brush coat.
I know someone on the list recommended dipping the handle in Dip-It from
the hardware store to coat the handle (all my handles are now essentially
wood, no paint left) so that is my next resort when I find time to go to
the hardware store, and I do still recommend them but geesh...
Mine also have the name Stephen Quiller on them, aside from Richeson, and
I have the 7010 series.
I have also used the Royal Langnickel Sno-White series, which has a fake
taklon bristle, but no side-by-side studies as to which soaks the most up.
Chris

Hi everyone,
Speaking of magic brushes, I am about to take orders for magic brushes
made in Japan. The pricing and other details will follow. Contact me off
the list if you are interested. I will go back to Japan in December to
order directly.
This brush is hand-made one by one by a brush maker in Tokyo. This came
about when I brought some Richeson brushes to a friend in Japan. My
friend brought them to a rush artisan to take them apart and change the
handle to wood so there will be not rust issue. Then he later discovered
that he had very similar bristle in stock and came up with the brush.
Here is a picture of mine:

Since it is produced as made-to-order, we can make it as wide as you
want (with a practical limit..). It is a bit pricy and it is about the
price of two Richeson brushes (with a fluctuation of exchange rate). But
if you will have to replace once or twice, then this will make a sense.
Please feel free to contact me with questions.
Warmly,
Tsuyoshi

DEAR CLAY & JOHN,
Got it! Thanks! Only one regret...that they don't make them wider

DEAR LIST,
I am hoping to buy a few more 4" Richeson Magic brushes but I can't
seem to find them at the art suppliers. Can anyone tell me where they
can
be found? Do they have new names?
I seem to recall this discussed recently but can't find the posts.
CHEERS!
BOB
