Just a little input here, before the voting starts.
1. Surveymonkey is free, and a good tool, but it's limited to 100 votes, so copy the survey and make 2 or 3 depending on how many are voting, if it fills up, just write down the results, clear the survey and 100 more can vote.
2. Bear in mind that someone is going to have to agree to do all the work it takes running the list. I don't know how many hours Gordon spent every week on maintenance, but it may be a good idea to ask.
3. I think the responsibility of moderating should not be put onto one person, I suggest a group of 3-5 people, this way there won't be any lags over holidays, (not that I ever noticed any when Gordon was in charge, he did a great job!)
4. Just want to clarify my own offer of hosting the list. I am happy to let the space on the website, and on the server (which is a professional server run by Bluehost), to help set it up, and to solve any problems occuring with maintenance and running. But, I'm not particularly interesting in hosting the list, at least not on my own. I have my own website to run, I am offering a space, not a "take over". :-)
