That may well be all there is to it,  in your case, but in the case  
of the Daniel Smith gum that I've had so much problem with drying  
out, that's not all, because as I said,  gum-pigment mixes made from  
other gums have not dried out at all in the same (plastic)  
containers, even after years.   So in this case, it's more than the  
container not being airtight; it's something about the gum.
