I have used the Inkjet mall auto-reset cartridges with both the Epson 3800 and 3880 and they worked well for me. As for ink, the Inkjet Mall states that their color inks are completely compatible with Epson inks and be substituted as a set, or color by color as needed, for regular color printing. Since you use primarily black and yellow you could test first by just buying ink and cartridges for these two colors. I am not aware of any tests that have been done of the Inkjet Mall color inks for UV absorption, which would be important for digital negatives.

I rarely print some house papers on this printer. I would really like to switch to third party inks for the cost. A few years back I was using third party inks for my Epson 2200. Any experience with Epson 3800. I have looked at inkjetmall carts and inks and ordered one to try.
