Our eyes have a different sensitivity to the colors, see for example the 
yellow print.
The best way is... to put all together! You could print a wide yellow test, 
superimposing on the two sides cyan and magenta so that you will see how M+Y 
and Y+C behave, etc.
But printing tricolor gum is not the same as monochrome. Usually, the risk 
is to end with too saturated or contrasty prints.
