A few questions: internegatives & cyanotype

Greetings,

This is my first posting to this list. I have reviewed most of the archives, but I
have a few questions I hope that someone may assist me in. I am new to alternative
methods and have started with cyanotypes to develope a knowledge base.

1. I have noticed that Ilfochrome sells a paper listed as "CCF-7 Transparent" which
the B&H ad describes has having a transparent base. Could this be used as an
internegative "film" rather than duplicating film for enlarging negatives or
positives? The listing has it for $109.90 for 50 sheets, which is more than I want to
spend to find out it would not work. Does anyone know if Ilfochrome sends out sample
packets?

2. Is there a reference/book/journal which describes the actual chemistry (ie
reactions) which are involved in the cyanotype process (including toning processes).
I am familiar with which chemicals are used and how to use them, what I am after is
the actual chemical reaction discriptions that occur.

Thanks for any assistance forthcoming.
