The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam has just opened an exhibition:
---------------extract
Starting February 9th part of the collection will be shown in the exhibition
department of the printroom. (...)
19th century photography now occupies a prominent place in the printroom.
Original work by well known 19th century photographers as WILLIAM HENRY FOX
TALBOT, ROGER FENTON, JULIA MARGARET CAMERON, MAXIME DU CAMP and the Dutchmen
EDUARD ISAAC ASSER, NICOLAAS HENNEMAN, WILLEM WITSEN and GEORGE HENDRIK
BREITNER is now preserved alongside the work of master draughtsmen and
engravers.
Unexpected finds in the museum's own collection include a unique panoramaphoto
of Baalbek by GUSTAVE LE GRAY.
The donation of the Asser albums, the incunabula of Dutch photography,
represents another spectacular addition.

Just one remark:
There is a new photoconservatrice working fulltime now, and she was checking
the cellars resulting in t w o exhibitions:
D o n o t forget the VAN GOGH museum; they a l s o exhibit prints of 19th
century photography and it is just opposite the other museum. I missed it,
read it one week after my visit to the Rijksmuseum.
