On March 11th Terry King wrote to say that he found the best developer
film combination for Platinum Palladium was FP 4 and amidol.

The only formula for amidol film developing that I can find is in
Jacobson and Jacobson book, Developing (18th Edition) 1972, Focal Press.

Sodium Sulphite anhd. 25 grams
water to make 1000 ml.

To 4 onces of this solution (100) 10 grains (0.5 gram) of amidol is added
just before use.

Development time 3-5 minutes.

Essentially the same formula is contained in Ansel Adams' 1948, The
Negative. Adams uses 20 grams of Sodium Sulfite and suggests that it be
used as a water-bath developer.

Terry, is the Jacobson Formula the one you use? What is your time for
normal development? Does amidol reduce or add exposure time? Gord
Hutchings writes in his Book of Pyro that adding amidol to his PMK Pyro
formula adds film speed to FP 4.
