Ink-jet negs for gums

Looking through recent archives I see that most people who are using
digital negs are getting them written by a bureau.

A while back people were debating whether it was possible to produce
suitable negs using a laser printer.

I am considering buying a colour ink-jet printer. (Epson Stylus Pro)
for other purposes but it would tip the balance in the direction of
spending the money if I could use it to generate negs for gums.

It does 720x720 dpi and I presume dithers these to produce what must
be the equivelent of around a 120 line screen.

Has anyone tried gums with ink-jet negs?

Roger.
