Cynthia, I think this is a pretty friendly list. You should see some.
There has been so much good advice given as to how to find out more from the
digest and the FAQ - as well as answers given freely to some pretty basic
questions over the past few weeks that I don't know how you get the
impression that this list isn't friendly.
One further point I'd like to make about the traffic on the list is that
some messages and whole exchanges that we have seen would have been better
confined to personal mail between those involved. If you read a post and
want to ask a question or make a comment you generally have a choice of
doing so person to person or through the list - our addresses are normally
in the header.
