Judy,
The "l" word that you are looking for is laminar (as in laminar flow).
Definition:the regular, continuous, nonturbulent movement, in a
specific direction, of the individual particles of a liquid. Aren't
you glad you asked? I'm only guessing, but the surface of the film
could be causing the problem. The laminar layer is the border where
the film and liquid meet; if the two films have different surfaces,
perhaps the 'near surface flow pattern' is different. Try using a drop
or two of kodak photo flo or edwal's lfn wetting agent per 500 ml of
developer.
Rotation 4 on the JOBO as near as I can tell is 50 rpm. Got the info
from a JOBO rep. The price of a 16x20 JOBO print drum is approximately
$80.00 (Calumet 1-800-225-8638). The drum with the normal lid may
allow you to pour in and out in little time. My drum drains in about
10 seconds. I use the drum with N31P 16x20 and have no problems with
agitation flow marks.
