Hello Everybody

Nearly all the papers we are talking about are mould made papers which could be
described as a half way house between hand and machine made papers. The wire
frame on which they are made, known as the mould, is on a drum which lifts the
pulp onto the frame and the putative paper is then transferred to a moving
blanket. The process gives a reasonably consistent high quality product at much
less expense than is incurred in the labour intensive manufacyure of hand made
papers.

Silvie Turner in 'Which Paper' explains it far better than I do.
