Archives and the FAQ

Hello All:

The Archives are "not really" available from the FAQ. I have developed a
prototype web form page that can submit requests for the archives
automatically, but I have not linked it to the faq, or told anyone of its
address. There is however nothing stopping anyone from stumbling upon it
and using it.

I decided not to make it public because of the potential problems it
would cause. It is very easy to get the form to ask for all the archive
files, which would cause serious problems on both Steve Avery's end and
the recipients end. The volume of mail would be far too large for any
one persons' mail to handle, and it would bounce back to Steve.

There are plans afoot to make the archives available through the www,
circumventing email completely. It may be possible to link the archives
to a search engine allowing people to search for specific subjects and
have individual postings returned, rather than getting them in large
chunks. With this on the horizon I thought the request form would
quickly become obselete, and decided not to pursue it any further.

Be patient, you may soon be able to browse the archives to your hearts
content, without any fear of crashing email systems or any other email
phobias.
