Judy is quite right. It is serious. I think what Dunstan meant was that there
is a risk of which one should be aware before taking the decision to go ahead.
Handling dichromates properly and responsibly so that one keeps any exposure to
the minimum, is very different from deliberate ingestion of a poison as is the
case with cigarette smoking. Pete, myself and others consider Dunstan's analogy
alarmist but understandable in the light of his marketing strategy.
cf John Pouncy 1820 - 1894 and Robert Demachy 1869 - 1936 who must have
handled quite a lot of dichromate in their time.
