Richard,

I guess I qualify as a super-regular since I post to trhe list frequently.
It is not my perception that there is any bias towards those of us who
use the list a lot. I certainly do not hesitate to express my opinion.
It is not unusual for some other "super-regular" to disagree with me. I
really don't mind as I learn from them. I don't believe that any "newbee"
has been ignored. We have all attempted to answer questions from anyone
who asks with great patience but at the same time have suggested that
one might make use of the archives. There are over 500 members of this
list. It should be obvious that most do not post messages. Are you
suggesting that those of us who do should stop?
I was the person responsible for the posting in which I attempted to
answer the question of what was an alternate process. I then asked the
list members for their opinions. It was an innocent request which I made
because I am frequently asked what the term "alternative process" means.
I live and work in a region where such things as platinotypes, gum prints,
cyanotypes etc. and for that matter, anything that is not a straight
gel.-silver print on commercial paper, is unheard of or unknown, so when
I show my work the question naturally arises. I am not attempting to set
up an exclusive group or club.
MY definition of alternative is ANYTHING other than straight gelatin-
silver based prints using commercial paper. If you have the determination
, time and creative ability to work with liquid light on paper, more
power to you, I wish you the best and consider you one of "us." (whatever
"us" is) Well Pogo said, "We have met the enemy and it is us."
Anyway, my point is that I believe you are overly concerned about
some things which I don't think exist. There is no secret agenda. We
are all just folks sharing a common interest. Some of us just verbalize
more than others. Sorry, can't help it. Thats what kollege perfessers do.
