While reading over the papers section of the Keepers of Light, a question
dawned on me that wasn't answered in the text. According to Crawford, BFK is
made in the mold type of paper maker, and he doesn't mention anything about
whether this method created a directional fibre structure.
With a paper that Does have a directional fibre structure, would it be
necessary to hang the paper to dry according to the direction of the fibre?
Last night I started pre-shrinking my BFK (I do the 2nd soak tonite). I
quarted the paper from its original size (by tearing), so that my final
paper size is 11x15. When I hang the paper, it is in Portrait mode,
vertically (and then inverted, the second time round). BFK is from what I
understand not pre-shrunk, and by the time this posting hits you, I'll
probably be soaking my gelatin, but it's always good to know for the next batch!
thanks and cheers
