OK, let's see if I can get this down:

According to high-school physics, "energy can neither be created nor
destroyed".

Total energy is finite (if infinite, then each object would have an
infinitely high temperature/go plasma).

All systems will devolve to their lowest energy state (entropy: G -> 0)

It requires a flow of energy to hold off entropy, to educate (holding off
ignorance), or to ascend beyond mediocrity (surpassing the norm).

So, as energy gradients decrease, there is a creeping mediocrity that will
increase without bounds.

So, next time you see a lousy print, you can blame it on someone leaving
the light on the night before..;)
