UV eye safety

I would appreciate suggestions on eye safety using UV light sources. My
present method is a 175-watt mercury-vapor exterior light. I've perused
the archives index (115+ pages from my printer!) but didn't find the
subject. Maybe the UV is ~already~ taking its' revenge :) I wear
eyeglasses and would hope for UV-safe protection I could wear "over" the
bifocals. How do you equip multiple students working with UV? An
off-list response might be appropriate to avoid list overload.
Sincerely,
