There are always problems with renaming. Judy mentions the case of
African-Americans, which includes white immigrants from South Africa and
excludes Hatians. Non-silver was suggested, which would exclude my Van
Dyke prints. Dick suggested "Classic," which will be the case of
silver-gelatin prints within a decade. I only suggest that Alternative
be maintained because it is understood what one refers to when these
processes are referenced. The title of the category is flawed (as is
"Classical Music - is John Cage's music "Classical"?), but I can't think
of a better term.
