To John Lowen and bromoilists:

Last December I sent a list of my new line of colour inks and brushes to you.
This supplements the black pigments and the Hog and fitch hair brushes. I'll put
the list in the mail for you. If anyone else is interested please contact me
directly.

Last week, I commented to Terry King, why would Kentmere bother with a single
weight smoothe surface paper for bromoil. If they thought there was enough
interest to produce a special paper, we should encourage them to bring back the
DW Matt. It was discountinued in 1978 and the paper did not have a barium
sulfate coating. This was a truly great paper and I thought it inked up better
than the DW Kodak Ivory Bromoil Paper. I still have a few hundred sheets left.

Luminos has been stocking the single weight smoothe paper for years; made by
Kentmere. It inks up with great ease, however it does present problems for
transfer.

My students prefer a double weight paper to the Art Document or smoothe surface.
Agfa has been their prefered paper. Printing depth is about 80% deeper John,
however if have a high key subject (portrait), I print it deeper than 80%.

Regards,

David Lewis
