I doubt this matters too much. I've used RC paper simply because that is what I
have on hand.

Winsor & Newton is what I've used. Don't know about the Sumi inks.

On the other hand, my last carbon printing session using Winsor & Newton pigment
and transfered to RC paper didn't produce anything spectacular. I got several
prints, but they were pretty weak. I don't think that these materials were the
problem though. I was tinkering with light sources.
