The Historical Group of the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain has
organised a day at the Birmingham Central Library, Birmingham. England on 3
May to view the archives and hear talks. The sessions will include a brief
history of the archive; William Crookes and John Spillar's contribution to
photography; Printing Bill Brandt; Encounters with Stefan Lorant; and an
opportunity to look at original images, illustrated books etc in the
Library archives. The talks will be given by members of the Birmingham
Institute of Art and Design's History and Theory of Photography and the
Electronic Image Research group.
