Has everyone forgotten the WWW archive?

Although the e-mail archive does not exist at present, I am capturing
all messages from the alt-photo-process list and plan to continue
adding them to the WWW archive (see signature for location).

I will need to change my procedures for processing the messages, but do
not see any major obstacle. I realize that browsing via the web does not
help someone who wants a local copy of the archive. I see two possibilities:

1. Archive messages in concatenated text file, one per month as before.
2. Use "zip" to package up the indexed, HTML version of the archive so
that it can be browsed locally.

I am interested in comments and suggestions (via e-mail, not the list) as
which
format would be most useful. I lean toward packaging the HTML files because
of the advantage of pre-indexing them. In either case, access would be
through
my web page and not through e-mail. Is there anyone who cannot access the
archives
through WWW and only has e-mail access? Again reply to me, not the list.

Cheers,
