You might try Gnuplot. It's simple, powerful, you can write programs for
it, the source code is available, it's free, it runs on UNIX (on many
systems it's already installed) and MS-DOS machines. I'm not sure about
MAC's - you'd have to check the FAQ which is posted via USENET from time
time. The program is available from numerous ftp sites.
