Transparentizer

Has anybody ever heard of a product called or referred to as
"Transparentizer" (spelling may be incorrect) ? It's supposed to make, say,
a vellum more translucent, more capable of transmitting light, and would
evaporate off after a period of time.

One of the machine operators at Kinko's mentioned it to me. Now I get to
figure out if the stuff exists. A salesperson at Flax's in San Francisco
suggested as an alternative either stand, linseed, poppyseed or Banana (!)
oil. Do these sound like viable options?

I desire to use a product like this so as to improve (yes, that would be
nice) my xerox paper negative mish-mash that I use to make large scale
cyanotypes. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Patrick
